This series was completed after a summer residency in Japan with The International Workshop of Ceramic Arts in Tokoname.

My inspiration for this piece came from observing women's special bond and support for each others spiritual, academic and physical and emotional nourishment through the different phases of their lives.  Kimono-like sleeves are filled like sails to carry the woman to their dreams.
