My “Encompassed Vessels” series were started with thrown vessels, which were each paired with an encircling, sculpted, branch-like holder. The series evolved as some branch holders grew into precarious positions around the vessel. The vessel may represent a holder of food or an abundance of food and the branch symbolizes support.
