The four different vessels in the “Commingling” series represent the different stages of motherhood: bonding, leading and letting go. I have found that these stages between a mother and child do intermingle, interchange and interact. The sculpted aquatic anthropomorphic creatures along with their glazing also represent this mingling or movement.
